Beauty in the little things!

Beauty in the little things!

So what value is there in the hardware, the hinges, handles, pulls or latches? Well, in fact sometimes the beauty is in small things, the seemingly insignificant things.

Originally this old table only had a stained top. You could see the wood thru the finish. Everything else on it was a shade of creame. Not bad, and it wasn’t too ugly, but it wasn’t what we wanted. Today, though, were not gonna talk about the table it’s self but instead will discuss the drawer pulls.

There apparently is an endless supply of options for handles and pulls but we wanted to keep costs low and work with what we had. Therefore, instead of simply discarding them and buying new, we were able to re-purpose and bring new life to the ones already installed. Besides that, the lamp shades above are also covered in burlap and I wanted them to match!

So to the point, we had these old draw pulls that really weren’t too awesome at all. Just plain painted wood if you can imagine that! How could we freshen them up without simply painting them? Well I had just enough burlap to give them a makeover! I would say that a square foot of burlap would cover at least four pulls of this size. And that’s exactly how many we had.

With a very little effort I wrapped them in burlap and secured it with hot glue. Be careful and don’t burn yourself or anything if you heat up your glue gun. In a few minutes after it was cool we screwed them back on the table and gave it a great new look!

Sometimes all you have to do is put forth a little effort! And where’s the fun in not doing anything? You may as well make it a project and enjoy it while it lasts!
